Our commitment

2Pens Media is deeply committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you interact with the Chicago Works app and website, how we use it, and the limited cases in which we share it. By using Chicago Works, you consent to the practices described here.

What we collect

We collect information in four ways:

• Web server logs — basic access logs for our website to diagnose issues and measure usage.
• Mobile app usage data — anonymous analytics events (which service types are reported most, crash reports, how long screens take to load) so we can improve the app.
• Information you provide — your name, email, and address, but only if you choose to include them in a 311 report.
• Location — your device's GPS location at the moment you submit a report, so the request can be routed to the correct ward.

How we use it

• To file your 311 service request with the City of Chicago.
• To show you the status of reports you submit (open / closed / in progress).
• To identify the Chicago ward your request belongs to.
• To diagnose problems and improve the app. No data ever leaves the app for marketing purposes.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
• We do not share your data with third parties outside the 311 request flow.
• We do not track you between apps or across the web.

Advertising

Chicago Works is free and ad-supported. Ads are served by Google AdMob and mediation partners (Meta Audience Network, AppLovin, Unity, InMobi, Mintegral). These networks may collect anonymous advertising identifiers (Apple IDFA / Google AAID) to serve relevant ads. You can disable personalized ads in your device's Privacy settings at any time, or purchase the "Remove Ads" upgrade to turn them off entirely.

Affiliate services

After submitting a report, Chicago Works may show you third-party local services (for example, a plumber if you reported flooding). These are clearly marked as Sponsored and we may earn a small commission if you hire one. Your report data is never shared with these partners.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the data we hold about you by emailing support@2pensmedia.com. For California residents under CCPA and users in the EU under GDPR, the same rights apply and we will respond within 30 days.

International users

If you are located outside the United States, note that your data is processed in the U.S. By using Chicago Works you consent to this transfer.

Changes

We occasionally update this policy. When we do, we update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in the app.
